Current status: no military discount, with baggage waivers

The official discount FAQ explicitly says Frontier Airlines does not offer military discounts and then lists baggage waivers. No airfare percentage or military ticket-price calculation is supplied here. The answer does not mean there are no military benefits, and it does not establish what Frontier will offer in the future.

What the baggage waiver includes

  • One free personal item.
  • One free carry-on bag.
  • Two free checked bags, with oversize and overweight fees waived for those two free checked bags.

The Military Bags page says this applies to all ticket types for eligible travelers. All baggage must still meet Frontier's baggage acceptance policies for size and weight. A fee waiver is not unlimited permission to bring oversized or overweight items.

Frontier describes military bag benefits as eligibility-based exceptions. If eligibility requirements are not met, standard bag fees apply. The all-ticket-types statement does not mean separate baggage benefits can be doubled or every promotion can be combined.

Eligibility and accepted identification

The official definition covers current members who are serving or may be called to serve. It lists:

  • U.S. Army
  • U.S. Navy
  • U.S. Air Force
  • U.S. Marines
  • U.S. Space Force
  • U.S. Coast Guard
  • National Guard
  • U.S. Military Reserves
  • Cadets of the Air Force Academy, West Point, Naval Academy, Coast Guard Academy and Merchant Marine Academy
  • Commissioned Corps and Ready Reserve Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service
  • Commissioned Officers Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Officer Corps

National Guard, Reserves and the named academy and corps categories are retained as listed. This definition is not rewritten using another airline's exclusions or expanded into a promise for every veteran or retiree.

Accompanying spouse and children

The Military Bags page requires the active-duty member to be present and traveling on the same itinerary. Accompanying spouse and children are not given an independent entitlement to use the member's benefit when traveling without the member.

Show either accepted ID

  • A valid, unexpired U.S. Government Common Access Card (CAC) with a uniformed-services or academy affiliation; or
  • An Armed Forces of the United States Identification Card with an active-duty, reserve, guard or academy affiliation, valid and unexpired as required by the page.

The specific Military Bags page supplies these detailed affiliation conditions. The separate discount FAQ has less detailed card wording; its text is not combined into an extra requirement to provide both cards.

Where and how to add Military Bags

  1. Check that the traveler meets the official service-member and ID conditions. For a spouse or child, check that the qualifying member is present and on the same itinerary.
  2. At the airport check-in counter or gate, present one of the accepted valid, unexpired IDs to add Military Bags.
  3. Keep every bag within the applicable baggage acceptance rules. The first two free checked bags have the stated oversize and overweight fee waiver.

No Agent Assistance Fee applies to adding Military Bags at those locations. This statement concerns that adding operation; it is not a promise that every airport service is free.

The reviewed military pages do not establish a complete online pre-verification or military-bag upload workflow. Ordinary online bag prices and purchase-time differences are not used as military-specific channel price differences.

Other military benefits have separate conditions

Priority boarding

Section 14 of Frontier's Customer Service Plan provides complimentary priority boarding before general boarding for qualifying service members and accompanying spouse and children traveling together with the specified identification. The section does not supply a military boarding-group number, so none is added here.

Military orders affecting existing travel

The same section provides no change fees when military directives or orders disrupt previously booked travel and the documentation conditions are met. It also provides full refunds of the amount paid, including ancillary purchases, with no cancellation fees under the stated circumstances.

Qualifying travelers must supply official travel or leave documents, including cancellation of leave, or other military orders/directives, together with the specified ID. The plan requires documents to be submitted before scheduled departure through Frontier's online Document Submission Form.

If supporting documents are not provided before the change or cancellation, the fee may initially be assessed and later refunded after verification. Both that sequence and the before-departure document requirement remain relevant.

These are conditional military-orders provisions, not free changes or refunds for any reason. An automatic waiver of fare differences is not confirmed by this section. The orders-document process is separate from showing ID to add Military Bags.
