Tractor Supply Military Discount: Daily Rewards, Quarterly Coupons and Hero Days
Tractor Supply’s Hometown Heroes program gives eligible military members, veterans, immediate military family members and first responders three distinct benefits: Preferred Plus Neighbor status with daily rewards, a quarterly discount coupon, and discounts on designated Honoring Heroes Days. Enrollment through Neighbor’s Club is free.
Checked September 12, 2026: the daily reward rate is 2%, the quarterly coupon is 5% off, and the designated-day discount is 10% off. The May 2026 bonus-reward campaign has ended.
Daily status: earn rewards on qualifying spending
Preferred Plus Neighbors earn two points per eligible dollar when paying without a TSC credit card. This corresponds to 2% in reward value. Points become redeemable Rewards under the program’s issuance rules; they do not take 2% off the current bill.
The default Preferred Plus issuance threshold is 1,000 points for a $10 Reward. Members can change their reward denomination. Extra status benefits include service credits for eligible delivery, trailer rentals or pet washes, subject to their conditions.
Quarterly coupon: one use per quarter
Active, verified Hometown Heroes receive a 5% coupon in their Neighbor’s Club Wallet once per quarter. You choose when to use the available coupon and what to purchase within its conditions. Check its expiration before planning the purchase; a universal coupon-validity period was not confirmed in the quarterly-coupon clause.
Hero days: use the eligible date for your verified group
The 10% benefit applies on designated Honoring Heroes Days with active, verified status. Military and first-responder date eligibility is not identical in the membership terms. Check the applicable event and your verified group before expecting the discount.
Put a $100 purchase through each calculation
These are hypothetical purchases, not product prices or tested orders. Rates were checked September 12, 2026. Each example assumes the stated amount qualifies in full, excludes tax and delivery, and meets the relevant offer conditions. The annual example additionally assumes eligibility and successful coupon use in every quarter, with the program unchanged.
| Benefit modeled | Assumed spending | Rate | Calculated amount | Coupons across a full year | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Daily rewards alone | $100 in net qualifying purchases | 2% reward value | $100 × 0.02 = $2 in accrued value; 200 points | Not a coupon | September 12, 2026 |
| Quarterly coupon, one purchase | $100 before this coupon | 5% off | $100 × 0.05 = $5 off | 1 × 4 quarters = 4, conditional on eligibility | September 12, 2026 |
| Honoring Heroes Day, one purchase | $100 before this discount | 10% off | $100 × 0.10 = $10 off | Event-based; no quarterly coupon count applies | September 12, 2026 |
| Quarterly coupons, full-year illustration | $100 × 4 eligible purchases = $400 | 5% on each purchase | ($100 × 0.05) × 4 = $20 off | 4, used under their respective conditions | September 12, 2026 |
Reading the calculations: the daily row creates 200 points, calculated as $100 × 2 points per dollar, with reward value of 200 ÷ 1,000 × $10 = $2. Starting from no points and keeping the default issuance threshold, that purchase alone does not produce an issued Reward. The coupon row instead changes the eligible purchase amount from $100 to $95, calculated as $100 − $5. The Hero Day row changes it to $90, calculated as $100 − $10, when that event applies.
Those are different events in the shopping process. A discount changes the purchase being paid for, points accumulate toward a Reward, and an issued Reward can be redeemed on a later purchase. For your own record, enter the coupon reduction when used and enter reward savings when redeemed. Recording the same reward value at both accrual and redemption would count it twice. The table therefore leaves daily points out of the amount labeled “off.”
Activate the benefit and apply the coupon
- Open Hometown Heroes and select “Verify with ID.me.” Follow the military or first-responder verification prompts; any required evidence must match the request presented there.
- After verification, sign into Neighbor’s Club or create an account. Account creation requires a password, email, phone number, and first and last name. Eligible military members and immediate family members need separate accounts.
- Open your Wallet to locate the quarterly coupon. The public quarterly clause does not specify how quickly it appears after verification. Read the coupon’s expiration and conditions.
- Online, sign in and apply the coupon from the Neighbor’s Club rewards section at checkout. In store, provide the phone number linked to the verified account and show the coupon barcode from your Wallet or email.
- Review the applied discount before completing payment. For a Hero Day purchase, confirm that the designated date and verified group qualify.
- For earned Rewards, use the available certificate in your Wallet or email on an eligible purchase. Rewards normally expire 60 days after issuance unless the certificate specifies otherwise; an unused balance is forfeited if you redeem more than the purchase covers.
Stacking: distinguish redeeming a Reward from combining discounts
Rewards may be redeemed with other Tractor Supply offers unless the specific Reward or offer states otherwise. That permission does not explicitly establish that the quarterly coupon can combine with the Hero Day discount. That particular combination remains unconfirmed here.
New points are based on net qualifying spending after discounts. Amounts covered by a Reward do not earn new points. Rewards cannot be exchanged for cash or used to buy gift cards.
Worked example using September 12, 2026 terms: assume an eligible $100 purchase uses only the quarterly coupon, no existing Reward, and payment without a TSC credit card. The coupon removes $100 × 0.05 = $5, leaving $95. New points on that fully qualifying balance are $95 × 2 = 190, with accrued reward value of 190 ÷ 1,000 × $10 = $1.90. The immediate discount in this example is $5; the $1.90 is value represented by points awaiting redemption through the reward process.
Using the original $100 as the points base after applying the coupon would overstate the new points. Likewise, adding the daily, quarterly and event percentages would assume both common eligibility and permission to combine benefits, neither of which follows from their appearing together on a program page. Work from the eligible amount remaining after the discount you actually use. If you also redeem an existing Reward, exclude the portion it covers from the new-points calculation. This example does not model that additional redemption or a Hero Day purchase.
What was available when: September 12, 2026 comparison
| Benefit or campaign | Benefit and trigger | Timing and status on the check date |
|---|---|---|
| Preferred Plus status | Daily 2% reward value on qualifying spending, plus conditional member benefits | Ongoing program benefit |
| Quarterly coupon | One 5% coupon per quarter for active, verified Hometown Heroes | Quarterly; use the coupon within its own conditions |
| Honoring Heroes Days | 10% off on a designated date for the eligible verified group | Specific events; not a daily discount |
| May verification bonus | $5 reward for military members, veterans or first responders verifying during May, through May 31, 2026 | Historical; the earning window has ended |
| May Thursday bonus | $5 reward for Hometown Heroes spending at least $75 on a Thursday in May 2026 | Historical; the earning window has ended |
| May brand-purchase bonus | $5 reward for Hometown Heroes spending at least $50 on Dumor or Retriever products during May 2026 | Historical; the earning window has ended |
The May offers were announced May 21, 2026. Their stated earning windows do not extend into September. Whether a previously issued May Reward remained usable would depend on its own expiration; the campaign announcement does not settle that account-specific question.
Four quarterly coupons do not make a twenty-percent annual discount
Annual illustration using September 12, 2026 rates: four eligible $100 purchases total $400, and four separately redeemed coupons save $20. The effective coupon discount across those purchases is $20 ÷ $400 × 100 = 5%. Adding the four coupon percentages would give the wrong result because each coupon acts on a different purchase. This is a full-year model with eligibility in each quarter, not a statement that four unused coupons are available today.
Replace every assumed purchase with the amount that actually qualifies for your coupon. Remove any coupon saving you do not receive or redeem; do not fill that gap with a past May bonus. Additional purchases without the coupon increase annual spending without increasing this modeled coupon saving. That changes the coupon’s share of your total spending, even though its rate on an eligible redemption stays the same. Keep unused or unissued reward value outside the total you describe as savings already realized.
