Kohl's Military Discount: Monday Savings, Coupon Order and Exclusions

Kohl's Military Mondays gives eligible shoppers 15% off qualifying purchases in store every Monday, year-round. A separate 30% Veterans Day offer ran in stores on November 10 and 11, 2025. A 2026 version was not confirmed in this review, checked September 12, 2026.

Active military members, veterans, retirees and their immediate families are the eligible audience. Both offers are store-only. The larger historical percentage does not replace the Monday offer or establish a discount for this year's holiday.

First, separate eligible purchases from the rest

The percentage applies to qualifying purchases. Check the items before calculating a saving; a full basket total may include purchases or charges that the coupon cannot reduce.

The exclusions are:

Examples on the eligible-brand list include Croft & Barrow, Sonoma Goods For Life and Tek Gear. These are representative names, not the complete list. Consult the full coupon-eligible brand list, look for in-store signs or ask an associate about the item you intend to buy.

A brand example is useful for narrowing a shopping list, but it cannot replace the qualifying-purchase check. Keep the excluded part of a basket outside the example calculation below. Otherwise, the arithmetic can be correct while the expected discount is still too large.

What the percentages mean after dollar-off coupons

Illustration of this page's existing Military Monday example: 100 dollar qualifying subtotal, assumed 20 dollar coupon first, 80 dollar percentage base, 12 dollar percentage saving, 68 dollar remaining subtotal.
Illustration of this page's September 12, 2026 calculation: the 20 dollar coupon is assumed; tax and excluded purchases remain outside the example.

Dollar-off coupons, including Kohl's Cash, are applied before the percentage-off purchase coupon. Another percentage-off coupon cannot be combined with the military coupon; that includes age-specific discounts.

For illustration only, the table assumes a $100 qualifying subtotal and, in the coupon examples, a valid $20 dollar-off coupon. These are chosen calculation inputs, not product prices or an advertised coupon offer. Arithmetic checked September 12, 2026; taxes and excluded purchases are outside every example.

Example Qualifying subtotal Dollar-off coupon first Percentage base Rate Percentage saving Remaining subtotal Checked
Military Monday $100 None $100 15% $100 × 15% = $15 $100 − $15 = $85 September 12, 2026
Historical 2025 holiday offer $100 None $100 30% $100 × 30% = $30 $100 − $30 = $70 September 12, 2026
Military Monday with the assumed coupon $100 $20 $100 − $20 = $80 15% $80 × 15% = $12 $80 − $12 = $68 September 12, 2026
Historical holiday arithmetic with the assumed coupon $100 $20 $100 − $20 = $80 30% $80 × 30% = $24 $80 − $24 = $56 September 12, 2026

The coupon changes the base on which the percentage operates. It does not change the percentage itself. Read the coupon value and the percentage saving as separate reductions, applied in that order, rather than treating the percentage as a reduction from the original basket total.

The holiday rows explain past terms. They are not prices available today, and the arithmetic does not predict whether a future holiday offer will return. A bigger calculated saving still needs a valid offer window before it can guide a purchase.

Monday and the past holiday window, compared on the same date

Status checked September 12, 2026:

Offer When Where Eligible audience Status
Military Mondays: 15% Every Monday, year-round In store only, on qualifying purchases Active military, veterans, retirees and immediate family members Standing offer confirmed in this review
Veterans Day: 30% November 10–11, 2025 In store only, on qualifying purchases Active military, veterans, retirees and immediate family members Historical window ended; a 2026 version remains unconfirmed

The date check and the merchandise check do different jobs. Shopping on the right day does not make an excluded item eligible. Finding an eligible item does not extend a holiday coupon beyond its stated dates.

Use the Monday discount at the register

  1. Plan your visit for a Monday and shop in store. Do not use the past holiday window as a current shopping date.
  2. Check the item against the coupon-eligible brand information and exclusions. Use the in-store signs or ask an associate if its eligibility is unclear.
  3. Bring a military identification card, a state-issued ID indicating veteran status, or Form DD 214.
  4. At checkout, request the military discount and present the qualifying identification. The historical 2025 holiday terms additionally required presentation of the coupon and limited it to one per customer.
  5. Apply eligible dollar-off coupons, including Kohl's Cash, before the percentage coupon. Do not combine the military coupon with another percentage-off or age-specific discount.
  6. Review the qualifying balance and the percentage deduction before completing payment. Compare them with the applicable offer, not with the historical holiday rate.

Check the receipt in the same order as the calculation: qualifying purchases, dollar-off reductions, then the applicable percentage. That makes it easier to identify whether a difference comes from an excluded item, a coupon applied earlier, or the wrong expectation about the offer date.

Frequently asked question

Can I use Kohl's Military Mondays offer online?

The Kohl's veterans discount for Military Mondays applies to qualifying purchases in store. The historical holiday offer does not replace that Monday benefit or confirm a current holiday promotion.
