Dated price comparison and conditional arithmetic
These are Academy product-page price snapshots, not military checkout quotes. The example calculation assumes the listed price is an eligible base solely to demonstrate the historical seasonal arithmetic. Official eligible-base treatment and product eligibility remain Unconfirmed. No current military-discount price is established.
Historical input: 10%, from the retained seasonal description, checked 2026-09-14; not a currently available offer. Calculation: conditional saving = round(listed price × 0.10, two decimal places); conditional result = listed price − rounded saving. This is our arithmetic convention, not a verified Academy checkout-rounding rule.

Unit conversion: dollars, cents and percentages
The U.S. Mint dollar page, opening paragraph establishes that USD 1 equals 100 cents. Checked 2026-09-14. The training-kit price snapshot therefore converts as USD 39.99 × 100 cents per USD = 3,999 cents (checked/calculated 2026-09-14). This changes the unit only; it adds no discount.
For the historical seasonal calculation only, 10% ÷ 100% = 0.10. Percent means per hundred; the denominator is a mathematical definition, not another merchant term. The historical rate input comes from the official seasonal description, checked 2026-09-14.
Using the training-kit snapshot: USD 39.99 × 0.10 = USD 3.999 before rounding; rounded saving is USD 4.00, leaving USD 35.99. All amounts were checked or calculated on 2026-09-14. This is a seasonal-offer conditional calculation, not a currently available price. Official product title and price block. The eligible base is still unconfirmed.
