Start with the ticket and your eligibility
Military Salute eligibility includes active and retired U.S. military personnel, National Guard members and Reservists, with qualifying spouses able to purchase using valid military identification. Shades of Green also confirms eligibility for veterans with a 100% disability rating who hold the required DAVPRM identification; a VHIC or benefits letter alone does not qualify for these promotional tickets. Disney’s military ticket terms; Shades of Green ticket FAQ.
The normal promotional allowance is six tickets shared between the service member and spouse, with one used by the eligible purchaser; it is not six tickets each. Family members and friends can use the other tickets under the participation rules. Shades of Green ordering instructions.
Buy, link, reserve—then confirm activation
You can buy through a participating military base ticket office, Shades of Green, or a Disney theme park ticket window. Purchases at a base ticket office or Shades of Green are tax-free; Disney adds tax at its theme park ticket windows. A Shades of Green hotel booking is not required to use its ticket service. planDisney purchasing guidance; Shades of Green resort FAQ.
For an advance Shades of Green purchase, check eligibility and complete its online ticket request form with your ticket type, party details and visit date. A ticketing agent then contacts you to verify eligibility and arrange payment. After delivery, link each ticket to the correct person in My Disney Experience and make the required park reservations. Shades of Green ordering instructions; Shades of Green ticket FAQ.
An account showing your tickets is not, by itself, proof that every admission requirement is complete. Disney's offer terms require activation by the eligible service member or spouse at a theme park ticket window. Shades of Green describes its own tickets as pre-activated, with military ID checked at the park entrance on first use. Those instructions differ, so ask the issuing office which procedure applies to your tickets and keep time available for a ticket-window visit. For the first park visit, the eligible service member or spouse must enter with the guests and show valid military identification. Disney’s military ticket terms; Shades of Green ticket FAQ.
The repeat-visit ticket is not an Annual Pass
The Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket includes Park Hopper access, but it is not an Annual Pass and does not include Annual Passholder parking or discounts. It is valid through December 18, 2026, subject to reservations and blockouts—not for a year beginning whenever you first visit. Disney’s military ticket terms.
Compare admission days and included benefits before treating a lower purchase price as an equivalent replacement for an Annual Pass. Repeat admission can be valuable without making two products interchangeable. Disney’s military ticket terms.
Park Hopper Plus adds visits, not extra theme park days
A 4-day Park Hopper Plus ticket provides four theme park days and four additional visits to eligible water-park or other experiences. Those additional visits do not turn it into an eight-day theme park ticket. Choose Plus because you will use the additional experiences, not because the combined visit count makes a price-per-day calculation look smaller. Disney’s Park Hopper Plus explanation.
Regular Military Salute days can be spread across separate trips within the promotional validity period. Unused admission days may support another visit, but another hotel stay and another journey still belong in your budget. Shades of Green ticket FAQ.
Check the calendar for every traveler
Military Salute tickets still require reservations even though ordinary date-based Disney tickets do not. For 2026, the promotional tickets are blocked out March 29–April 11 and November 22–28, and cannot be used after December 18. If your dates overlap a blockout, compare an eligible non-promotional ticket rather than assuming a cheaper Salute ticket will work. Shades of Green ticket rules; Disney’s 2026 offer announcement.
For a party mixing Annual Passes and military tickets, check every traveler's reservation before committing the group to a park day. Disney warns that reservation availability can differ between admission types. A reservation secured for one part of the family does not settle the plan for everyone. Disney’s military ticket terms.
Compare the hotel total, then check the route
Request a Disney military room quote for the same dates, occupancy and room type you are considering at Shades of Green. Disney lists eligible hotels and date-dependent savings, with limited rooms allocated to its military offer; call (407) 939-7830 to check availability. Compare the total for your stay rather than ranking hotels by the discount percentage alone. Disney’s military hotel offer.
If Shades of Green appeals because you expect to walk directly to the Polynesian, revise that transport plan: the resort says the walkway closure is permanent. Its FAQ lists bus connections through the Transportation and Ticket Center and other transport options. A room comparison should include how you will get back for a break, especially when that route was part of the reason for choosing the hotel. Shades of Green resort FAQ.

Frequently asked question
What should veterans check before using Disney's military tickets?
For Disney's veterans discount, veteran status alone is not enough: the ticket eligibility and required identification described above must be met. A VHIC or benefits letter alone does not qualify.
