Gym Military Discounts: Planet Fitness, LA Fitness and Gold’s Gym
Planet Fitness and LA Fitness have no current nationwide direct military rate verified in this review. Gold’s Gym Tampa Gas Worx publishes a local $47.99 bi-weekly military/first-responder plan, with four-month commitment and $0 enrollment/annual fees; it is not a national rate. Compare fee bases, billing intervals and access. Unknown is not zero, and no cheapest-gym ranking is supported.

Gold’s Gym: a local fee offer, not a national percentage
The Tampa Gas Worx military card supplies a real price and commitment. Its enrollment and annual fees are zero, while bi-weekly dues remain. The military wording does not define every veteran or family category, and the plan cannot be moved to every Gold’s Gym.
The Virginia military-orders cancellation provision waives a particular termination fee. The Army program lists Gold’s Gym in Texas only. Neither is the same purchasing route as the Tampa membership. See the Gold’s Gym guide for dates, proof, local limits and the historical-source boundaries.
Membership charges are not interchangeable
Monthly dues, startup or initiation fees and annual charges have different billing periods. A reduction in one component does not remove the others. Both guides keep ordinary public offers separate from verified military terms.
The LA Fitness public offer illustrates the distinction: zero initiation still leaves prepaid dues and a later annual charge. Planet Fitness’s local example separates ordinary plans by access, commitment and fee schedule. Neither example is a military quote or a matched comparison between the two brands.
Sponsored networks and military funding need separate eligibility
WeSalute/GlobalFit names LA Fitness but does not publish a uniform LA price. USAA’s Active&Fit Direct price is a program offer; the selected LA Fitness club and tier still need confirmation. GlobalFit’s prior-membership condition is not silently applied to USAA.
The ASYMCA route is an approved military program, with LA Fitness named in Army guidance and a no-family-add-on restriction in that brochure. It is not a public veteran coupon. Keep platform membership, military-program eligibility and direct gym membership separate. Read the LA Fitness channel table for details.
Historical events, billing dates and offer deadlines stay separate
Planet Fitness’s 2019 announcement concerns its stated historical event window. The 2024 ESG report describes participating-franchise activity without establishing current nationwide access. Neither renews itself simply because the calendar reaches Veterans Day.
For LA Fitness, a public annual-fee billing interval is not a coupon deadline. USAA’s enrollment-fee waiver has its own dated window; the ASYMCA initiative’s extension is separate from an individual approval or renewal period. Each row retains its source-check date rather than filling missing policy dates.
Compare matching access over a matching period
For a confirmed quote, use total = n × M + I + k × A + T + X: counted monthly payments, monthly rate, startup/enrollment, number of annual charges, annual rate, tax and other charges. Count a prepaid month only once.
Then compare the regular and eligible-offer totals for the same club access, services and period. A missing military rate stays unknown; it does not become zero. A free historical visit is not a free recurring membership, and a different network’s headline rate does not prove the cheaper final bill.
Gold’s Gym Gas Worx quotes bi-weekly rather than monthly dues. For that quote, replace n × M with b × B, using the actual number of bi-weekly payments and the quoted amount. Do not count twelve monthly payments against a bi-weekly rate. Confirm the bill schedule before estimating a period total.
