Office Depot Military Discount: OfficeMax, Rewards and Coupon Terms

Office Depot’s official military page lists a 20% off coupon on qualifying regular and sale-priced purchases and a separate 25% back in Bonus Rewards offer. The rewards are not an immediate 25% price reduction, and the figures are not added to make 45%. OfficeMax is covered in the relevant store terms. Check the channel, exclusions, $100 weekly rewards cap and each offer’s own end date.

Who qualifies, and what must be verified?

The official military page and Help Center list active duty, National Guard and Reserves, spouses, immediate family members, veterans and retirees. Online users are directed to military-status verification through ID.me. The store Help Center separately lists Military ID, Military Dependent ID or a form of Veteran ID.

The store Bonus Rewards coupon has its own requirement for military ID, Rewards Member number and original coupon. Use the documents and redemption instructions for the offer you are taking. Generic verification FAQ examples such as professional licenses or student IDs are not evidence that those documents establish military status.

The official page says the coupon email typically arrives 24–48 hours after successful ID.me verification. That is delivery timing, not the coupon’s validity period or a guaranteed approval time. Manual review can take longer. Military verification FAQ; Help Center eligibility. No verification was performed for this guide.

Not being named in this summary is not a promise that an item qualifies. Check the exact SKU, coupon and final transaction. Rewards Member Price items also have separate combination rules in the program terms.

Online, store and OfficeMax are not separate universal codes

The 20% coupon block permits officedepot.com and in-store use. The verified 25% block on the military page is online-only. The Rewards landing page separately publishes a store-only 25% military coupon. Those are separate redemption instructions, not permission to use the online offer everywhere.

The store coupon calls for the original coupon at purchase; the Rewards page directs customers to a store associate for its code. No reusable public military code was verified here. Follow the retailer-issued coupon instructions rather than copying a number from an expired PDF.

OfficeMax is named alongside Office Depot in the store coupon, Rewards terms and historical flyers. These names are covered together here. Both rewards blocks state $100 per member per week; this review did not independently establish how the account combines the online and store allowances. Do not assume two separately additive $100 allowances. Store coupon; Online/20% terms.

What amount earns the 25% Bonus Rewards?

The general Rewards terms say all Rewards use the final price paid at checkout, before tax and delivery fees, after discounts and deductions for free gifts and reward/merchandise certificates or cards applied to the purchase. The military offer then narrows eligible products further and imposes its own weekly cap.

This does not make every product eligible just because ordinary program rewards cover it. Nor is a gift-card purchase eligible simply because gift cards can be used as payment in other contexts. Use the exact program and coupon wording for the item and payment involved.

The military offer replaces ordinary 2% rewards with 25%; it is not 27%. Its rules also exclude the VIP 5% benefit and other Bonus Rewards on the same or similar products/services. ID.me’s separate affiliate cashback is not the retailer’s ordinary 2% program. Official Rewards calculation rules; Military Bonus Rewards restrictions.

When rewards post, and when they expire

The terms distinguish ordinary Program rewards from Bonus Rewards. Ordinary Program rewards have a $3 monthly payout threshold; that rule is not imposed here on military Bonus Rewards, which are issued separately.

Most Bonus Rewards post the day after the qualifying purchase posts to the account. Some promotions instead post within 10–15 days after the promotion expires. This is not a promise that a military purchase will generate spendable value instantly or within 24 hours.

Program rewards certificates are described as valid for 60 days after issuance. All reward documents expire at 11:59 p.m. ET on their printed date, and individual document terms govern redemption. Check the military bonus document’s actual expiry; do not turn every issuance rule into a universal 60-day promise. Rewards have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash. Read issuance and redemption terms.

Calculate a price discount and a rewards credit separately

Let P be the item amount confirmed as eligible for the 20% coupon. The conditional price reduction is 0.20 × P, subject to the issued coupon’s rules. Let Q be the week’s qualifying net spend for the military rewards offer. Subject to the published program and offer rules, its rewards credit is capped at min(0.25 × Q, $100).

If some weekly reward allowance has already been used, only the remaining allowance can be available for a later qualifying transaction. Check the actual offer and account before assuming a fresh allowance through another brand or shopping channel.

Do not add 20 and 25 into a 45% checkout reduction. Any coupon/rewards combination must be permitted and use the correct post-discount rewards base. A later rewards credit is still not cash saved on the current receipt, and full later redemption is not assumed.

Rewards membership and payment conditions matter

The Rewards terms list no annual membership fee, a minimum age of 18, a valid email address and one account per household/business. Business Select members, ODP Business Solutions customers, government accounts and resellers are excluded from the program under those terms.

Rewards Member Price items cannot simply be combined with coupons or free-gift offers; the terms describe a better-price/value comparison instead. Reward redemption has its own restrictions, including gift/prepaid-card and back-order limits. Broad program membership eligibility does not override the military offers’ Puerto Rico/US Virgin Islands restrictions. Program membership and redemption rules.

Ongoing program language does not erase a coupon deadline

The Help Center describes the in-store military benefit as ongoing with no expiration date, without assigning a percentage or detailed base there. The military page’s 20% coupon ends December 31, 2026; the dated 25% rewards offers run December 28, 2025–December 26, 2026. Both the general statement and specific dates are retained.

The Help Center was published October 13, 2021 and updated August 18, 2026. The Rewards terms are dated July 7, 2026. These are source dates, not replacements for the coupon deadlines. This guide’s source review is September 22, 2026.

Old 25% off flyers are not current 25% back offers

The original search sample includes the official 2020 Veterans Day PDF. Its printed window is November 11–13, 2020 and its benefit is 25% off qualifying in-store purchases. The separately read 2022 flyer runs November 11–13, 2022. Both are expired event coupons, not current redemption instructions.

The 2022 flyer expressly requires the original coupon, limits it to one-time use and one coupon per household/business, and excludes tax. Its product list includes furniture/seating and specified household-product items. Those historical restrictions are not silently imported into the current coupon or rewards lists.

The large “25%” headline is insufficient: check whether it says off or back, which year is printed, and which products qualify. Both PDFs were read as text and rendered for visual inspection. 2020 flyer; 2022 flyer.

Partner listings and old discussions have limits

ID.me’s merchant listing confirms offer availability but the body read still contained a December 28, 2024 expiry in one rewards paragraph. The retailer’s current dated terms are used here instead. The same listing’s up-to-2% affiliate cashback has separate exclusions and code restrictions; it is not added to the retailer’s rewards.

WeSalute explicitly labels its Office Depot information as a non-partner resource. Its “may be accepted” wording for its own ID card is not a retailer guarantee, and the page does not establish that buying WeSalute+ is required for Office Depot’s direct verification route. Old Reddit reports about discretionary percentages or corporate codes are not current policy. ID.me merchant listing; WeSalute disclaimer.

Before you buy

  1. Choose the exact offer: a 20% price coupon, online military Bonus Rewards, or the store rewards coupon.
  2. Confirm the applicable military proof, verified account and Rewards membership requirements.
  3. Check every product against that offer’s exclusions and confirm the eligible amount after any allowed discounts.
  4. Check the weekly rewards already earned and the dated coupon/document terms.
  5. Keep the current amount due separate from later rewards you may earn and redeem.
