Mattress Firm Military Discount: Which Price Gets the Extra 20%?
Mattress Firm advertises an extra 20% military offer on qualifying purchases and says savings apply to the listed price, including sale items. The terms also advertise 10% for Purple while naming Purple in the exclusions; exact Purple product treatment remains Unknown. For a different qualifying item, use its listed sale price as the military discount's base.
Official terms read October 24, 2026. No identity, code, product eligibility or checkout was tested. All example prices below are hypothetical.
Keep the base and coupon rules separate
| Calculation base The listed price, including an eligible product already on sale. |
| Coupon boundary One use on one sales order; another coupon cannot be added. |
Reconcile the two prices
Use a two-price reconciliation before comparing advertised percentages. In an explicitly hypothetical eligible case, suppose the original item price is $1,000 and the posted sale price is $800. The assumed sale markdown is a posted price, not a second coupon. Assume the item qualifies for the advertised 20% military branch. Apply that rate to $800: the military reduction is $160 and the calculated item price is $640. The original markdown saved $200; adding that dollar saving to $160 gives $360, or 36% of the original $1,000. Adding the two 20% rates instead would claim 40% off and a $600 item price, understating the calculated price by $40. Keep original price, listed price and military reduction as three separate worksheet fields. If a quote instead deducts $200 for the military line, it has used the original price as its base in this example. Ask which listed amount and eligible item the code was applied to before treating the difference as a failed verification. This checks the calculation only; it does not establish eligibility, taxes, delivery, rounding or a real checkout total.
Verify before using the code
Mattress Firm lists active and reservist military members, veterans, military retirees, military spouses and registered dependents. Verification uses ID.me. After successful verification, its single-use coupon can be used at a Mattress Firm store or on MattressFirm.com.
Can I use the discount more than once?
The official FAQ says a new code is currently available every 90 days by re-verifying. It separately answers Yes to whether the code expires, without stating an expiry deadline. That 90-day replacement window is not a confirmed code-expiry interval.
What about other promotions?
The military terms expressly bar combining this code with the Free Adjustable Base offer. Sale-price eligibility does not remove that restriction. They also prohibit combining another coupon; compare permitted alternatives instead of assuming every advertised promotion can be collected together.
Exclusions include earlier purchases, floor models, clearance, outlet products, adjustable bases and named mattress brands. Check the exact item against the full official list. A sale label alone does not establish military-code eligibility.
